History
The idea for an electronic database for antique and classic cars and trucks was born in the spring of 1998. The original pioneers for this project were Ken Jenkins, David Noel and myself. David Read joined Detroit Iron a year later. We saw a need to preserve fast disappearing information on the older vehicles. Our goal is to provide a package of information, valued on some CD's at $200.00 to $300.00 in books, at a reasonable price of $54.95 retail delivered. We recognized the lifeblood of this industry is the younger people coming into it, who grew up with computers and were seeking an electronic format.
At first the idea was just 1972 and older Muscle Cars on General Motors, Ford and Chrysler products. Then as request came in the coverage was expanded to all cars and trucks. We have since enlarged our coverage to 1979 for Ford, Chrysler products cars and trucks.
Our goal is not to replace the need for books but to allow those fragile assets not to be lost and worn out.By having all the required Factory Original paper books on CD you not only save time also money. If you are lucky enough to have all the paper books why take a chance! With Detroit Iron Information Systems CD manuals, your fragile paper books can be kept in pristine condition.
